If you are heading to Stockport this weekend check out the Frogs that have appeared all over town as part of the Giant Leap Forward Art Trail. Two of the #stockportfrogs have been designed & decorated by three of our members. They answered the artists call for people around the borough to submit ideas for the art trail.
“My Charming Digital Prince aka Kerm.IT” is number 3 on the trail and was created by Louise Barson. It can be found at Exchange Square by the railway station. The design is a continuous line of binary symbols winding over 35 metres around the frog to create patterns. The design includes a translation of the binary lettering to reveal well-known frog poetry and sayings.
“Mrs Hoppy the Happy Shopper” was created by Lyndsey Anderson and Debbie Hancock but they didn’t choose that title. It is number 9 and in the covered section of Merseyway. This colourful frog is based on wildlife found around the River Mersey and the shopping centre. It is an underwater scene of fish and the life cycle of frogs and will you spot the bat?
Can’t wait to see them! Well done girls.
